The 2nd Annual Savannah Mile will be run in downtown Savannah on Memorial Day weekend. This is one of the most exciting running events in Savannah! The course takes you one mile straight down Drayton Avenue, starting near the south end of Forsyth Park, finishing just beyond Broughton Street.

200 CLUB FUNDRAISER

WHAT: 2nd ANNUAL “SHIELDS FOR FALLEN HEROES” CAMPAIGN

A month long fundraiser to benefit the 200 Club “Line of Duty” program. This program provides financial assistance to families of active duty firefighters and law enforcement officers in 20 Low Country Counties throughout South Carolina and Georgia. The 200 Club immediately responds following an officer’s Line of Duty Death or critical injury, with financial support to help lessen the devastating effects on the surviving families of our fallen heroes.

"Dear Tak and members of the 200 club,

It has been a while since you entered our lives with financial support that was greatly needed. Tak it has also been a while since we've spoken and I have had so much going on since Melvin's death that I haven't had much time to focus on things that I would like.

I have not, however, and I will never forget your kindness and generosity. I cannot put into words how grateful my children and I am for you, your organization and the work that you all do. I pray that God will bless your organization and multiply it a thousand times over.

My children and I are doing as well as can be expected, but there are many challenging days and I am sure we have many more ahead of us. Again, thank you all so very much for your kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity.
